In this episode, Janice is speaking with Marsha Stepensky, a Program Director of Behavioral Services for a community organization that supports adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in day programs and supported living.  She brings over 12 years of rich experience working with individuals with disabilities and their families in a range of settings, including clinical, educational, and vocational.  We talk about sex education barriers, myths, assault prevention, and communication tools for parents and caretakers.

Marsha Stepensky

Sex Educator

Marsha is a first-generation American and native to the Washington, DC area. She is currently the Program Director of Behavioral Services for a community organization that supports adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in day programs and supported living. Marsha earned her Master of Science in Special Education with a concentration in Severe to Profound Disabilities and a Post-Master's Certificate in Applied Behavior Analysis from Johns Hopkins University.

She brings over 12 years of rich experience working with individuals with disabilities and their families in a range of settings, including clinical, educational, and vocational. She has experience with program development, management, and innovation; coaching, training, and facilitation- including international speaking engagements. Marsha is currently completing supervision toward her Sexuality Educator Certification with The American Association of Sexuality Educators, Counselors, and Therapists (AASECT).

When she's not talking about sex, Marsha enjoys going on travel adventures (once upon a time), food adventures, making stained glass windows, and spending time with her wonderful husband and kitties.
